Reimagining Conservation
đWORKING TOGETHER FOR HEALTHY COUNTRY
Reimagining Conservation seeks to redefine the concept of conservation by moving beyond conventional âwesternâ approaches, to valuing and empowering Indigenous-led conservation supported by non-Indigenous allies.
REIMAGINING CONSERVATION | 21-24 SEPTEMBER 2026
🔔SAVE THE DATE for Reimagining Conservation 2026!
NAILSMA and the International Union of Conservation for Nature Australian Committee are excited to share that the Reimagining Conservation forum for 2026 will be held from 21-24 September 2026 on Gimuy Walubara Yidinji Country in Cairns QLD.
This yearâs event will be the third Reimagining Conservation forum in Australia hosted by NAILSMA to reframe conservation within the rich cultural frameworks and enduring knowledge systems of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. These forums are vital for bringing people together across cultures, sectors and regions and creating space for honest discussions, shared learning and collaborative action.
