Larrakia Rangers

The Larrakia Rangers are a long-running, urban-based Indigenous ranger group. We work across Larrakia land and sea country, which comprises the greater Darwin region west across the Cox Peninsula and east to the Adelaide River.

Larrakia rangers carry out a wide variety of land management work such as weed and erosion control, revegetation, marine megafauna surveys, land mammal monitoring, and water sampling. Where possible training in Conservation and Land Management is linked to the work Rangers are doing, or to up and coming projects.

Larrakia rangers also work on community projects. We work on sites with cultural and natural heritage significance to local Aboriginal people, and help to maintain a number of grounds of buildings and community spaces.
