Our People
Over the years NAILSMA has attracted many talented and experienced people to join the organisation or the Board in assisting to facilitate large-scale and complex projects that combine science and research, Indigenous knowledge and practical support to achieve results that meet cultural, environmental and economic benefits for Indigenous people
Our Board of Directors bring a range of skills and experience to the work of NAILSMA.
The Board meets at least four times a year and is responsible for:
- setting the policies and strategic directions for the organisation;
- approving and monitoring the annual budget and ensuring financial well-being;
- monitoring overall organisational performance; and
- ensuring the organisation meets its regulatory and statutory requirements.
The Board appoints the Chief Executive Officer and delegates management of the organisation to the CEO. The Chief Executive Officer
is the Board’s only official connection to the organisation’s operations
and conduct.
The staff of NAILSMA is lead by the CEO, Ricky Archer. The team
comprises professional people of diverse backgrounds who bring a
passionate drive to the projects they are engaged in and work tirelessly
to assist the Indigenous land and sea managers and their organisations.
