In October 2013, NAILSMA and Charles Darwin University (CDU) hosted the Northern Australia Study Tour conducted as part of the Arafura and Timor Seas Ecosystem Action Program (ATSEA) Regional Demonstration Project. Through this exchange trip, representatives from Indonesia and Timor-Leste visited Darwin and eastern Arnhem Land to meet with Indigenous groups, environmental managers and conservation professionals. Together they shared knowledge, skills and experiences related to coastal and marine management, livelihoods and biodiversity conservation.

Two publications documenting the Study Tour are now available. The Northern Australia Study Tour Report is a visual record of the study tour that provides an overview and photo collage of the participants, partners and major activities included in the exchange trip. The Northern Australia Study Tour Story Report consists of a series of multimedia interviews with project participants, providing insight into their experiences during the study tour.

Both of these publications are now available on the ‘Resources’ section of the NAILSMA website.
